Overview

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for the general and preventative maintenance of North Island Credit Union’s facilities.

Responsibilities

Principal Accountabilities (95%)

  • Assist with ensuring the proper operation of all North Island facilities through timely completion of assigned maintenance tasks, to include building interior and exterior areas. 
  • Assesses and makes recommendations to manager relating to facilities maintenance and repair needs.  
  • Assists manager relating to compliance with regulatory requirements, including but not limited to fire codes and OSHA regulations; and, daily walk-throughs and weekly inspections to identify safety concerns and issues. 
  • Handles all tasks relating to minor facilities and equipment repair and maintenance, including but not limited to the following systems/areas: HVAC, grounds, plumbing, electrical, general carpentry, walls, furniture, building surfaces, fire/safety equipment, janitorial services, lighting, flooring, ceiling, cabinets, desks, carpeting, restrooms, kitchen, workstations, offices, storage areas, small appliances, etc.  
  • Procures repair parts, materials, tools and equipment. 
  • Documents work by using assigned logs and methods; provides maintenance data to manager to assist with overall facilities management. 
  • Performs routine check of assigned credit union vehicles.
  • Performs on-call duties as assigned; work may include extended hours. 
  • Coordinates and assists with setting up and tearing down for special events, including but not limited to car sales, corporate meetings, group functions, both on and off North Island premises.

Secondary Accountabilities (5%)

  • Performs other duties as assigned. 
  • Complies with BSA requirements as commensurate with position.

Qualifications

Position Requirement and Qualifications

Abilities:    

Excellent abilities in the following:  problem-solving, organization, time-management, detail-orientation, communication, customer service, documentation, and operation of hand tools and appropriate equipment.  Must be able to drive a motorized vehicle/auto or equivalent.

 

Knowledge, Education, Certifications, Licenses: 

Extensive working knowledge of minor building repairs and maintenance to include internal and external systems that affect the operational functions of the credit union’s buildings and facilities. General knowledge of safety regulations and rules; and, credit union policies relating to assigned tasks.  High School diploma or equivalent.  Valid driver’s license required.  Must be able to pass background check to comply with access to military facilities and branch locations.

 

Experience: 

Two to three years of facilities maintenance and repairs in the capacity of a facilities or maintenance technician to gain the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities in a comparable environment or equivalent required.

 

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

Work is performed indoor and outdoor.  While performing the duties of the job, incumbent is regularly required to stand; walk; use hand and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and is frequently required to climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch; crawl; and, frequently required to lift up to 100 lbs.
