  • Overview

    Under general supervision, assists the HELOC team throughout the application process from receipt of the loan application to the final loan documentation process and preparation for funding.


    Principal Accountabilities (95%)

    • Provides excellent service to members (external and internal) by completing the assigned tasks timely, efficiently and with minimal errors.  


    • Orders supporting documentation including title, appraisal, flood, payoff demands, 4506 (Tax verification with IRS), Verification of Mortgage and Employment, and Statement of Information.


    • Reviews supporting documentation and resolves issues as needed to prepare for loan funding.


    • Draws closing documents and coordinates loan signing with mobile notaries.


    • Coordinates loan closing:
      • Verifies signed loan documents.
      • Verifies Insurance and Employment.
      • Creates instructions to Title Company to co-ordinate recording of Deed of Trust.


    • Maintains communication with manager, branches and members regarding the status of HELOCs.


    • Perform Quality Control, as required


    • Manage Returned Documents and Forwards to Records
      • Deeds of Trust
      • Title Insurance Policies


    • Manage cancelled/denied applications for compliance


    • Prepares and mails initial HELOC disclosures in accordance with regulatory requirements.


    Secondary Accountabilities (5%)

    • Provides backup to the other HELOC positions, which includes Funder, Assistant HELOC Processor and Underwriter.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    • Complies with BSA requirements as commensurate with position.


    • Abilities:  Excellent member service skills to include both written and verbal communication.  Must be accurate, detail-orientated and possess time-management, and organization.  Must be dependable, self-motivated and require minimal supervision.  Able to handle competing priorities.

    • Knowledge, Education, Certifications, Licenses:

      A strong working knowledge of mortgage loan terminology, documentation, lending policies, and guidelines, preferred. Must be proficient in major Loan Origination and Document Preparation system.  NMLS registration/licensing required.

    • Experience:Two to three years of work experience as a loan processor (FSR) in a financial institution or equivalent required to gain the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to handle all aspects of the position.
