  • Overview

    General Summary

    Under general supervision, performs DMV (Department of Motor Vehicle) tasks relating to the lien placement and removal of collateral assigned to auto loans.  Provides internal and external support to employees and members regarding a variety of DMV-related questions and issues.

    Responsibilities

    Principal Accountabilities (95%)

    • Is the primary contact for all inquiries and requests relating to the DMV function. 
    • Processes and completes paperwork to secure lien with the California Department of Motor Vehicles. 
    • Completes paper title and vehicle registration requests. 
    • Checks in and processes files; and, tracks vehicle titles using internal systems. 
    • Reconciles DMV general ledger. 
    • Processes member refunds. 
    • Files and maintains loan files.  Forward to the Records Department once lien has been perfected. 
    • Works on Fraudulent Release reports, Discrepancy Reports, Without-Title Reports and VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) Errors Reports. 
    • Prints general ledger report, Paid-Loan Report New-Loans Report, Paid-Loan Reports and Payoff-Reversal Reports for review and action.  
    • Processes title releases; converted and perfected files including RPU3 and associated general ledger reconciliations.

    Secondary Accountabilities (5%)

    • Performs other duties as assigned, including but not limited to assisting other areas of the department.
    • Complies with BSA requirements as commensurate with position.

    Qualifications

    Abilities:    

    Excellent abilities and skills with in the following areas:  detail-orientation, initiative, adaptability, flexibility, time-management, customer service, technical/system skills, and teamwork.

     

    Knowledge, Education, Certifications, Licenses: 

    Strong knowledge of vehicle title and registration transactions; and; and general ledger reconciliation steps and processes.  General knowledge of consumer lending and credit union policies and procedures.  High School diploma or equivalent.

     

    Experience: 

    Depending on level, requires two to three years of DMV processing/transaction experience in a comparable environment to gain the knowledge, skills and abilities to handle all aspects of the position or equivalent.
