  • Overview

    North Island Credit Union is seeking an experienced Consumer Loan Funder in San Diego. 

    General Summary

    Under general supervision and in accordance with established policies and procedures, processes consumer loans and prepares loan documents to ensure compliance requirements are met. 

    Responsibilities

    Principal Accountabilities (95%)

    • Provides excellent service to members (external and internal) by completing the assigned tasks timely, efficiently and with minimal errors. 
    • Provides processing support to the Contact Center Sales Team by reviewing and analyzing documents; verifying collateral; and, ensuring stipulations are met and funding the loan. 
    • Provides processing support to the Branches by fulfilling document transmission using DocuSign to capture electronic signatures. 
    • Fulfills Preapproved Credit Card Acceptance forms and creates the account in the loan origination system. 
    • Ensures accurate data entry into internal systems. 
    • In conjunction with contact center sales staff, obtains the necessary documents for loan requests and consumer loan workouts, when applicable. 
    • Monitors incoming email and faxes; handles accordingly. 
    • Responds to member or branch staff inquiries regarding loan funding process, rates, terms and related matters.  Assists branch staff with closing and funding activities, when applicable. 
    • Processes internal department reports. 
    • Performs quality control of loan files and reports findings to management. 
    • Forward documents for archival to the Record Department, when applicable. 

    Secondary Accountabilities (5%)

    • Provides backup to other areas of the department. 
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    • Complies with BSA requirements as commensurate with position.

    Qualifications

    Abilities:

    Excellent member service skills to include both written and verbal communication.  Must be accurate, detail-orientated and possess time-management, and organization.  Must be dependable, self-motivated and require minimal supervision.  Able to handle competing priorities.

     

    Knowledge, Education, Certifications, Licenses:

    Requires a strong working knowledge of consumer loan terminology, documentation, lending policies, and guidelines.  Working knowledge of consumer loan processing, funding and closing.  General knowledge of credit union policies and procedures.  High School diploma or equivalent.    

     

    Experience:

    Two to three years of work experience as a MSR/FSR in a financial institution or equivalent required to gain the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to handle all aspects of the position.
