    North Island Credit Union is seeking an experienced Regional Operations Manager in San Diego.

    General Summary:

    This position is responsible for providing product knowledge support, operational and service leadership to branch employees including motivation and ongoing training. Under the guidance of the AVP, Branch Operations, partners with branch management teams to ensure operational and administrative controls are applied consistently throughout the branch network according to documented policies and procedures.

    Responsibilities

    Principal Accountabilities:

     

    Branch Operational Leadership:

    • Ensures consistent application of credit union policies and procedures, while supporting current corporate strategic plans.
    • Spends majority of time in assigned branches, working closely with the branch management teams, to motivate and develop a competent, high-performing staff to ensure maximum efficiency in daily branch operations and exceptional service delivery.
    • Identifies and develops high-potential employees in order to build bench strength.
    • Drives efforts to identify process improvements and opportunities for increased operational efficiencies.
    • Provides transaction approvals up to $1,000,000 and overdraft approvals up to $25,000. 

    Member Service:

    • Ensures exceptional member service is delivered in a prompt, professional and courteous manner with the highest integrity in accordance with established credit union standards.
    • Assists, addresses and resolves member concerns and inquiries in accordance with established guidelines.
    • Drives efforts to identify and implement service behaviors that improve overall member experience.
    • Ensures the Credit Union’s brand, professional reputation and standard of service excellence is represented and maintained at all times. 

    Branch Audit and Risk Management:

    • Evaluates branch operational compliance relating to internal controls, risk management and service quality. Provides timely, consistent and reliable results.
    • Ensures compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, laws and regulations, including branch operational standards.
    • Maintains responsibility for all operational activities through coaching and mentoring of Assistant Branch Managers, in conjunction with Branch Manager to ensure audit compliance. 

    Secondary Accountabilities:

    • Attends and participates in meetings, seminars, conferences as required.
    • Handles specials projects.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Position Requirements and Qualifications:

     

    Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong leadership and motivational skills; excellent planning, coaching/mentoring, judgement, analysis, member service and time management skills. Computer proficiency including Word and Excel preferred.

     

    Knowledge, Education, Certifications, Licenses: In depth knowledge and thorough understanding of regulations related to financial institution branch operations, new accounts and consumer lending. A bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience. Completion of related classes (internal/external), such as New Accounts, Consumer Lending, Product Knowledge, and compliance courses, etc., preferred.

     

    Experience: Requires seven years of work experience in a financial institution in all facets of branch operations at a management level to gain the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to handle all aspects of the position. Proven ability to identify and implement process improvements.
